Watchdog group seeks Abramoff records
Edited on Thu Oct-20-05 01:23 AM by NVMojo
WASHINGTON -- An ethics watchdog group filed legal briefs Tuesday against the National Indian Gaming Commission, seeking records related to the government agency's contacts with one-time Indian casino lobbyist Jack Abramoff and his former associates.

The briefs, filed by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, accuse the agency of withholding documents that could shed light on the tens of millions of dollars in lobbying fees tribes paid Abramoff and his lobbying firm.

But Shawn Pensoneau, spokesman for the gaming commission, said the agency has already "provided everything we have" in documents concerning its contact with Abramoff and the others cited in the suit.

They include former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Sugar Land; former DeLay aide Michael Scanlon; former Bush administration procurement chief David Safavian; Republican strategists Ralph Reed and Grover Norquist; Rep. Robert Ney, R-Ohio; Sen. Conrad Burns, R-Montana; and James Dobson, director of the Christian organization Focus on the Family.

1. DeLay, Safavian, Reed, Norquist, Ney, Dobson
A gang of thugs in association with Abramoff. Every one of them, dirty to the marrow of their bones.
