US man jailed for Al Qaeda role

A United States citizen convicted of supporting Al Qaeda by casing the Brooklyn Bridge to see if it could be blown up has been sentenced to 20 years in jail.

Iyman Faris was given the maximum term possible, with the judge rejecting his request to withdraw his guilty plea.

The 34-year-old Kashmiri-born truck driver was convicted on one count of providing material support to Al Qaeda and another count of conspiracy.

Faris's lawyer said the story about the Brooklyn Bridge was not true but a ruse "to fool the FBI investigators so that he could write a book".

I don't believe there is a 'network' of terroists. I don't believe anyone would even need Faris to case anything.

The Justice Department and our judicial judges have gone insane. (That means they are Republican Scare Mongers.)
