College Democrats endorse Kaine
College Democrats endorse Kaine
BY KAVITA PILLAI
STATE & NATIONAL EDITOR
November 07, 2005

One of only two gubernatorial contests in the country this year, the Virginia governor’s race, which is entering its final stretch, has been intense fodder for national media.

With the scrutiny so close, college-aged Democrats in North Carolina have taken to Va. streets in hopes that a victory for Democratic candidate Tim Kaine will set the tone for a shift in political power on a national scale.

“We think Tim Kaine is going to win, and that it will show that the country is ready for change,” said Tom Jensen, president of the N.C. Federation of College Democrats.
(snip)

Polls show Kaine with a slight lead on Republican candidate, Jerry Kilgore, but the race is close enough that no one is ready to predict what will happen on Election Day.

2. "race is close enough that no one is ready to predict"
Thanks to the overwhelming preponderence of such messages in various media, I am now ready to make my official prediction of the outcome.

It will be stolen. Virginia will have Kilgore as her next governor by a slim and peculiarly obtained margin, and such exit polling as is allowed will once again skew wide of the "mark". The Republican Spin Machine will declare Kilgore's victory to be additional proof of the solidifying conservative hold on the American psyche. Watch and see.
