2. What is Powell saying, and to who...that makes Cindy protest?
Is there a point, or has Cindy just not gotten her weekly fame injection?

28. No love lost between Powell and Chalabi.
"Not unpredictably, another indication was Powell's ax-grinding effort against Ahmad Chalabi, long a Cheney and Rumsfeld friend. The State Department, along with the CIA two tireless resisters of regime change in Baghdad had been working behind the scene for some time to tarnish Chalabi's image. What annoyed them the most about Chalabi was that the former banker had made some very influential friends on Capital Hill, where he was always received like a statesman. Chalabi had also easy access to high-ranking official (sic) at the Pentagon, including Rumsfeld, and at the influential Defense Council Board, whose members James Woosely and Richard Pearle Chalabi had been friends with for years.

By working to discredit Chalabi, the State Department and the CIA were hoping to persuade Bush that the likes of Chalabi did not have the best interests of the country in lobbying for war against Saddam."

5. Yeah, how dare she
Protest a man that helped to sell an illegal war to the world. I'm sure she's only doing it for attention. It's not like she has any vested interest in making those responsible actually....responsible.

8. I've been trying to find info about the speech,
Colin Powell is NOT the evil man he has been portrayed as. Colin was proped up in front of the nation with the war info for one reason, because he is a credible, honoarable man. He warned everybody about the catastrophe that would occur in the Iraq invasion, he urged the administration not to invade. If you think that every body who on ANY level had a hand in advancing the war should be protested then there are a SHIT LOAD of senators on that list. I doubt very seriously that Powell is going to that COMUNITY COLLEGE to speak out on waging war in IRAQ. Read up on Powell, he is not the waste of flesh his EX-BOSS is. I had enough of Cindy when she turned from a protesting mother of a fallen soldier to, a HACK! Lots of people were duped into the war intelligence, Dems and Republicans.

She confronted Hillary and in the process burned up whatever credability she had in my eyes, I think she has a taste of fame and can't see her goals anymore. She is doing more harm than good now.

7. "Knows, or should have known" is the standard for
war crimes responsibility. There's a special spot for Colin at the Hague. Maybe he'll be like Albert Speer, the only Nazi to express even the slightest hint of remorse.

that the WMD claim was flimsy, it was his patriotic duty to stand up then. He did not.

22. Not in the Hague....
but it should be acknowledged that they were EITHER stupid, or revoltingly cynical; voting to allow war, knowing that the "intelligence" was sexed-up, then sitting back and allowing THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS of people to be killed, until the time came for them to claim they were "duped".

No need to tell me under what category Ms. Clinton falls, as she is obviously NOT stupid.

31. On Feb 15, 2003, roughly 30 million people
demonstrated world-wide against the impending slaughter. (Incorrect to call it a "war," since that presumes two evenly-matched adversaries.) What did those 30 million demonstrators know that Colin Powell didn't know (or chose to ignore)?

The fact is that SH's son-in-law had defected to Jordan in 1995 and, while there, was debriefed by U.S. intelligence assets to the effect that Iraq had destroyed all its WMD in 1991. So, when Scott Ritter said before the war that U.N. inspectors had been able to account for the destruction of 98% of Iraqi WMD and had probably destroyed 100% of Iraqi WMD capability, shouldn't Powell have been reasonably expected to know that information (rather than acting as a shill for the war-mongers)?

Again, command responsibility in war crimes prosecutions adheres to the standard of "knows, or should have been reasonably expected to have known."

15. You are right, I should support Cindy no matter what she says or does,
So I guess Hillary needs to step down, as Cindy suggested? I don't think so, Cindy got HUGE attention in Crawford, and she deserved it, she earned it. But after she called out Senator Clinton I realized she is turned from activist, to HACK !

There are a lot of credible people who would do things differently now if they could. Kerry would be at the TOP of that list. Cindy protesting Powell at the COMUNITY COLLEGE outside San Fransisco will make her look as diconnected as her little nip at Hillary's feet.

Praising and following Cindy, blindly just because she is "Cindy Sheehan" is also a sign.

13. You need to learn more about Cindy.
Do some credible research and find out what her mission is really about.Currently, you appear clueless to the depth of her stance. May I suggest you stop taking the right-wing talking points to heart.

I understood her to call out Senator Clinton. In that choice, I leave Cindy to you, I'll take a Clinton. I thank everybody for the discussion, I have not taken "right wing talking points" to heart.

SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL ME HOW CINDY SHOOTING OFF HER MOUTH AT SENATOR CLINTON HELPED. Because that is where she lost me.

23. I did not ask if she had the authority,
How did it help? was my question.

I am not questioning her right to protest, I question her vision. That's my right. Yelling, or type yelling at me does not impress.

Take a deep breath, I don't want you to spit all over your keyboard.

We don't agree, I'll leave it at that.

30. Respect her right,...rather than shitting all over her under the pretense,
,...of exercising your own.

I'm not impressed by you, either. You seek to demean and destroy rather than respect and embrace a mourning mother's passion to push the "powers that be" to answer a question that impacts us all: "FOR WHAT NOBLE CAUSE?"

24. opposition to the war needs a leader
and in the absence of democrats, this has now fallen to Cindy Sheehan.

I am not one to make Sheehan or anyone else into a saviour, but I support her pro-peace position rather than Rodham-Clinton's (and other democrat politicians).
