(Iraqi) Guard shows no remorse over Iraq bunker prisoners
Edited on Wed Nov-16-05 10:41 AM by Barrett808
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - An Iraqi guard who took part in detaining some of the 173 prisoners found locked in an Interior Ministry bunker showed no remorse on Wednesday over reports they were abused, saying they were suspected "terrorists."

Seif Saad, 18, a former laborer with no police training, stood in a watchtower overseeing the windowless building in central Baghdad and described how security forces raided homes of the detained suspects or snatched them from the streets.

"We placed sacks on their heads and tied their hands behind their backs," Saad, wearing a special forces police uniform, which resembles that of a Shi'ite militia group, told Reuters.

"They were brought here for interrogations over bombings. Some were released. Others were held or taken to prisons."

He said they were rounded up, whether Sunnis, Shi'ites or Kurds, "if they are suspected of terrorism."

2. The timing of this is suspicious
Within months, we'll be hearing "No, it wasn't US that tortured in secret prisons...it was rogue former Baathists that infiltrated the Iraqi police force. Here's the proof! They had secret torture prisons! It wasn't us."

4. Hmmm. They sound just like our troops!
I work with some AF and Army officers and they basically sing the same song. It goes like this, "Iraqis, until proven otherwise are terrarists. We should kill them all because they are terrarists. But we love regular Iraqis and are trying to set them free."

I've concluded that our military is brainwashed willingly and the Iraqis are just "identifying" with their "liberators".

We're importing something but it ain't "democracy". But what do you expect with the reptiles we have in high places?
