Columnist Robert Scheer Finds New Home at 'SF Chronicle'
http://www.editorandpublisher.com/eandp/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1001522435

Liberal columnist Robert Scheer, who was dropped last week by the Los Angeles Times, has a new home newspaper -- the San Francisco Chronicle.

In a Wednesday note to readers, Chronicle Editorial Page Editor John Diaz wrote that Scheer "has been a frequent contributor to this page in recent years. Starting today, he will become a weekly fixture. ... Scheer's column will be edited through the Chronicle and we will have a chance to discuss ideas with him -- though he will make the final call on topics for his column, which will continue to be distributed through Creators Syndicate. It will run in the Chronicle each Wednesday."

25. An article written by Scheer
for Nation Magazine, and Moford's "Evil Evildoers of Evil" were the ones I used to convince my family and friends that something fishy was going on following 9/11. Now I can read both in one place.
Way to go, Chronicle!

I shall never recommend the LAT again to my California friends - you were the shining light at that paper.

Shall always say: SFChronicle!

I am so glad that you have not be left adrift!

14. Hope the LA Times is very happy...
... with their new shill, Jonah Goldberg. He should do wonders for their circulation... and their reputation. :)

26. LA Times just today announced major layoffs, with more to come.
Serves them right, the creeps!

One redeeming thing - they now have lots of Tole political cartoons, and I can't remember when I last saw Ramirez.

We'll miss the paper as we're canceling our subscription. We don't tolerate yellow journalism here on the left coast.

16. Or maybe get a boycott going of the LATimes' biggest
advertiser??? That would get their attention.

But glad Scheer has found a new home!!!

19. Good, he deserves to land at a good paper after the shoddy way
the LATimes treated him. I will no longer be reading the LATimes after this incident, both for who the fired (Scheer)and who they hired (that idiot Jonah Goldberg)

20. Chew On THAT, Debbie Saunders!
Edited on Wed Nov-16-05 08:49 PM by Bark Bark Bark
Good lord, she's probably exploded all over the walls upon finding out.

Debbie's "liberal counterpart" used to be Stephanie Salter, who got a freaking Pulitzer for looking at a problem and deciding the best solution was to throw money at it, then go home and feel really bad about it.

Scheer's a whole different ball game. This will make the paper worth reading again...well, that and "Bad Reporter."

(Ask John A over at Americablog how he feels about Li'l Debbie. Oh, never mind, here's a link.)

23. Good for him!! This was my e-mail to the LA Times:
I just wanted to thank you for firing Robert Scheer. You have removed my ONE reason for reading your paper, so I can now skip it entirely. What a time saver, thank you!

Sarcastic, but they deserved it IMO.
