Source: Cheney Isn't Woodward's Source

Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON (AP) - Vice President Dick Cheney is not the unidentified source who told Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward about the CIA status of the wife of Bush administration critic Joseph Wilson, a person familiar with the investigation said Thursday.

Woodward did not talk with the vice president that day, did not provide the information that's been reported in Woodward's notes and has not had any conversations over the past several weeks about any release for allowing Woodward to testify, said the person, speaking on condition of anonymity.

4. Who else thinks it's the pResident himself?
I think Woodward spoke with Bush.

Woodward has an excellent relationship with Junior.

Junior must have been pleased with Woodward's first book. He allowed Woodward to come into the WH again and write another book. We all know that these thugs only allow in blind loyalists who will propagandize for them.

Bush trusted Woodward. He probably had a great deal of respect for him--maybe he had stars in his eyes.

Woodward described the "senior official's" disclosure of Plame as off-the-cuff, like an off-hand remark. There's only one person who is that arrogant and ignorant.

Junior. It's Junior.

8. The battle between Rove & Cheney heats up
Cheney is gonna force the chimp to admit it which makes it OK as he can de-classify anything he wants, which gets everybody else off the hook, 'cept for Scooter, who is up for lying.

If Cheney can get bush to take the heat, it saves Cheney's ass unless Fitz can nail a conspiracy, the point of which was to destroy Plame's network monitoring weapons materials.

THAT's the real point of outing Plame - destroy CIA's ability to make sure the junta isn't planting stuff so they can invade and make sure weapons corporations can move stuff to people who are banned from buying.

I could see Monkey thinking the two were pals, hell, he probably even gave Woodward a cute little nickname.

26. ME--I said that awhile back
It just FITS. But hey, who knows, at this point? It gets curiouser and curiouser....

Who knows, maybe Monkey cut a deal with the prosecutor. Unindicted co-conspirator; cooperating witness. Indictment remains under seal.

Buys him time so he can time his resignation, all he needs to do is squeeze Dick so he resigns, and put Condi in as Numbah Two--to replace him when he resigns to avoid impeachment!!!

God help us all!!!!!!!!

5. this has gotten ridiculous...
everyone involved in this case is stonewalling (to protect who??) and
it's become a childish game of twenty questions with each co-conspirator.
Is there not a single decent human being who will stand up
and expose the corruption in the White House??

14. Well, .. Wilson wants Woodward probed
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Joseph Wilson, the husband of outed
CIA operative Valerie Plame, called on Thursday for an inquiry by The Washington Post into the conduct of journalist Bob Woodward, who repeatedly criticized the leak investigation without disclosing his own involvement.

"It certainly gives the appearance of a conflict of interest. He was taking an advocacy position when he was a party to it," Wilson said.

Edited on Fri Nov-18-05 12:36 AM by SlavesandBulldozers
it's interesting the variety of "unnamed sources" reporting the "facts" of the case, when the case itself addresses "sourcing". I, too, simply reserve judgment until i hear it from Fitz because he's proven himself to be good, and thorough (with props to Lebowski).

23. Somethings I think this stuff is written badly on purpose.
"Woodward did not talk with the vice president that day, did not provide the information that's been reported in Woodward's notes and has not had any conversations over the past several weeks about any release for allowing Woodward to testify, said the person, speaking on condition of anonymity."

So, Woodward did not provide the information written in his own notes? Because that is how the sentence reads to me.

it does read as you've stated.

another hilarious bit about that sentence is "said the person".

Oh ok. .. the person. . . thanks for the attribution of that quote (dick).
