US to drop live bombs in Territory(training range)
LONG-range American bombers will be able to drop live bombs on an Australian training range in the Northern Territory under a key plan announced today.

Under the arrangements US B52, B-1 and B-2 stealth aircraft could fly from as far away as the continental US for training operations at the Delamere air weapons range in the Northern Territory.

Defence Minister Robert Hill said such strategic bomber training had been conducted some time ago. He said the US had now asked Australia whether it could be resumed. The plan was announced during the Australia-United States Ministerial (AUSMIN) meeting in Adelaide.

"We have said we are happy to assist," Senator Hill said.
Senator Hill said some of the aircraft might not even touch down in Australia, while others would land at the Darwin RAAF base.

2. Australia is a bigger target.
It is training, you know. Gotta make it easy to start with.
