Anthrax Threat Evacuates Workers At County Building

PORTLAND -- The claim of anthrax in an envelope forced workers to evacuate the Multnomah County building at Southeast Grand Avenue and Hawthorne Boulevard.

Around 10 a.m. Friday, an envelope was discovered in the tax department mailroom with a note saying there was anthrax inside.

A hazardous materials team responded and evacuated the first floor and part of the second. At least six people were quarantined as a precaution.

"They just told us to evacuate to the lobby and that there was some kind of contaminated payment or something," one woman told KOIN News 6.

He's pissed off about paying taxes, so he mailed in a bogus threat.

We'll see. Or not.
