BBC: New Study Details Iraq Insurgency
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/4447778.stm

Up to 3,000 foreign insurgents may be fighting in Iraq, but they remain a small part of the overall rebellion, a US military analyst has suggested.

<snip>

At the start of November 2005, only about 400 of almost 13,900 detainees in Iraq were foreigners, the report says.

"The foreign fighters' attacks tend to be more spectacular, the local national, the Saddamists, the Iraqi rejectionists, are much more problematic," said Maj Gen Joseph Taluto, commander of a US infantry division in Tikrit.

1. This administration is unwilling
to admit that most of the insurgents are Iraqis, who want us gone. Bush is a disaster for the world, and his rush to war has only added to instability and bloodshed. He has not done one good thing since he stole the first election.

He likes to believe that if people are shooting at us, they MUST foreign recruits, or Saddamists, or whatever. After people have seen their own families detained on bogus charges, tortured, killed, their homes and businesses destroyed, it only makes sense that they would want us gone.
