Statement From General Wesley Clark In Support of State Lawsuits Challenging Rollback in Clean Air Act
This week, a coalition of 12 states, the District of Columbia and local governments filed suit against the Environmental Protection Agency to block the rollback of key provisions of the Clean Air Act. The new EPA regulations, pushed by the Bush Administration, will allow older power plants to continue polluting at high rates even as they undertake massive expansion.

"Once again, the current administration is betraying the public trust," General Wesley Clark said. "There is nothing 'conservative' about this destructive environmental agenda."

The Office of Management and Budget has found that the health and social benefits of enforcing tougher clean air regulations during the past decade were five to seven times greater in economic terms than the costs of complying with the rules.

"We have the technology and the know-how to do better," Clark continued. "We will save thousands of lives and create thousands of jobs by doing the right thing. We need leadership that's willing to make the tough choices, and stand up for Americans in the face of special interests. That's why I applaud the state attorneys general for fighting back."

He's kept his promise about not beating up other candidates, and instead focuses on Bush. I really like that approach :)

THe Democrats should be more like Clark. As a military man, you can't just go around blaming everyone else for YOUR leadership failures, which is what GWB has consistently done. (Figures...since he ran away from his duty as an officer in the Texas ANG. Guess he never learned the 14 leadership traits during the short-ass time he was there)

THe Democrats should man the hell up and just start fighting hard and smart. Strike your opponent hard...sieze and control the initiative....impose your will upon the enemy.....make your enemy engage you on your terms....make your enemy fight a defensive battle, get him tired, and press the attack.

How can any Democrat not get behind Clark? Maybe I'm biased because of my military background...

Neither my father, either of my grandfathers, or any of my great-grand fathers, uncles, or great uncles served the military. It wasn't deliberate, it just worked out that way. And I very strongly support Wes Clark.

So, no, it isn't your military background that makes you support Wes. Its your intelligence!
