It's true that dropping Padilla down a hole isn't scary for long. How do you scare the country with someone held incommunicado and never tried? Time for Bushites to brush him off and publicize some charges, all while stating "no comment" on prior allegations and the three years forever lost to our fellow citizen.

ELEANOR HALL: In the United States, the lawyer for a US terrorist suspect has accused the Bush administration of exploiting her client for political gain.
US citizen Jose Padilla was initially accused of wanting to detonate a radioactive bomb in America, and has now been charged with conspiring to carry out terrorist attacks overseas.
Mr Padilla's lawyer is vowing to fight the charges, and says they were drawn up to help revive the President's flagging approval ratings.
