Bush’s Colorado trip seen as pre-emptive strike to help Musgrave

The Associated Press

DENVER — Republicans hoping to prevent another close call for GOP Rep. Marilyn Musgrave are bringing in President Bush to Colorado Tuesday to raise funds and shore up her re-election bid.

“Both sides are looking at this race as an early target, and the Republicans want to raise enough money to make sure it doesn’t stay on the target list very long,” said GOP political analyst Katy Atkinson.

“They’re trying to make sure she isn’t caught by surprise like she was last year. They never expected the money and ads that went up against her,” Atkinson said.

In 2002, Musgrave beat Democrat Stan Matsunaka, a former state Senate president, by 13 percentage points, but her winning margin against Matsunaka last year dipped to about half that following a barrage of unflattering television ads.

2. The only thing Bush works at is campaigning non-stop. Stay in the
White House and do your job for a change, Mr. Bush.

3. Naw...
.. with the way his numbers are right now we WANT him out there beating the bushes for every Repug candidate he can fit in.

Besides... it's less damage he can personally do if he's on the campaign trail then if he's in the white house looking for something to screw up cause he's bored.

4. I lived in Colorado
for almost 3 decades and am familiar with this sick twisted piece of flesh! If it's anything against gays, minorities, any religion other than Christianity, etc, that bitch is supportive. My daughter, a reporter with a newspaper in Ft. Collins, told me people are FINALLY getting sick of her and there are high hopes she is well on her way out!

9. Thanks GWB
What we really need here in Colorado to help unseat Musgrave is a closer relationship to the stinking, sinking head of state.

10. You wanna help defeat her?
Besides getting Bush to come and offer her his support, which is a surefire loser, here's the website for her opponent:

I know Angie - testified before her to the Education Committee. She's good.
