Democratic panel considers Nevada for January voting/ Party might change
this is a biggie, if it happens.

RENO -- Nevada could join New Hampshire and Iowa in holding early presidential votes under a Democratic National Committee proposal designed to broaden the pool of voters choosing the presidential nominee.

A committee panel to change the party's primary schedule is moving toward adding a Western state and a Southern state in January.

Nevada and Colorado are the most likely candidates in the West because neither has joined a separate movement to hold a Feb. 5 Western states primary, commission members said.

"Nevada could really become one of the most important states in the country," commission member Mike Stratton told the Reno Gazette-Journal.

1. How about simultaneous 3-day primaries in every state?
...and hold the general election the same way.

Simultaneous so no single state has an undue influence on the election and 3-day so everybody gets a chance to vote.

5. They complain that it'll cost too much money to campaign in every state.
Gee, it seems to me that that's what it SHOULD all be about...a true representation of the voters' wishes...

3. Why not have regional primaries?
Split the country into 4, 5, or 6 different regions that candidates can campaign in. When the first region is done making it's choice, move to the next region and start over.

4. The more the merrier!
This would reset the balance of power in Democratic primary politics. It would force the media to recast momentum stories and allow more people into the process. It would also place a premium on early fundraising success for candidates which is why most would not be as fervent about this as We The People! But this is just what is necessary to make the voice of the people heard over the media and punditry class.

Please...:applause:

8. I think this is a great idea!
Nothing against Iowa and NH, but it is time to share the spotlight. Their role has become too powerful.
