Carter site seeks contributions for possible Nevada Senate bid
Edited on Wed Nov-30-05 02:38 AM by NVMojo
LAS VEGAS (AP) - Jack Carter, the son of former President Jimmy Carter, has launched a Web site soliciting donations and support for a potential challenge to Sen. John Ensign, R-Nev.

Carter called the site part of his "listening tour" designed to gauge Nevadans' reactions to his Democratic candidacy, which would be the Las Vegas investment consultant's first personal foray in politics. He previously campaigned for his father.

"One of the things you listen for is how are people going to contribute," he said Tuesday.

Carter, 58, said he won't officially announce his decision until after the first of the year, but said response to the site, which was posted last week, was "excellent." He does not have to disclose contributions until January.

1. Did Carter's son disavow himself from The Southern Baptist Convention as
.
Did Carter's son disavow himself from The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) as did both his father ex-president Jimmy Carter and his mother, Rosaland, due to women's rights, abortion, anti-Catholic movement, isolationism forces w/i SBC, nativist politics, co-mingling of Church and State? (see, e.g., http://www.opinionjournal.com/taste/?id=65000479)

Is this Carter running for the U.S. Senate from Nevada pro-same-sex marriage or anti? How about abortion? Stem-cell research? The right to die w/ dignity (unlike the horrific death of Terry Schiavo). Gun control or like Alito's machine guns are okay stance?

stayed at the home of local gay Dem party leaders when they came to visit and learn about Nevada. I went to dinner with all of them and found the Carters to be kind, intelligent, and non-judgemental people.

What's your issue? Do you live in Nevada?

Myself, I'm not a Baptist of any type so I have no idea what is being alluded to here about the S. Baptist group you mention.
