Aid group blames U.S., U.K. for Iraq abductions
The aid group whose four members were abducted at gunpoint in Baghdad on Saturday blames U.S. and British aggression in Iraq for the hostage-taking.

In a statement, Christian Peacemakers Teams said it was outraged that the four pacifists, including a pair of Canadians, are now suffering for a war they didn't create.

"We are angry because what has happened to our teammates is the result of the actions of the U.S. and U.K. governments due to the illegal attack on Iraq and the continuing occupation and oppression of its people," the Toronto- and Chicago-based organization wrote in the statement posted online.

1. The group that is holding them is "unknown til' now"
This makes me exceedingly nervous. Why is a heretofor unknown group holding people who are working against the occupation?

6. Makes one wonder
I don't know much about this peace group or what they were doing. But if it would be something that might embarrass the US or the UK, perhaps the abductors don't speak Arabic, if you get my drift.

5. Well yes....
If the abductors are working for the occupation in some way then yes its their fault entirely.

If the abductors are Islamic extremists, or common criminals then they can hardly be called innocent victims in this matter, as the article seems to imply.

7. The US attacked the UN and the Red Cross
in order to get them out of Iraq, why wouldn't they kidnap peace activists? Of course, doing everything they can to make it look like the insurgent and Zarqawi did it.
