Guwahati, India - Tribal separatists abducted and shot dead a woman and her four sons in a revenge attack in India's troubled northeastern state of Tripura, police said on Sunday.
Militants belonging to the outlawed National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) targetted surrendered rebel Padda Charan Malchum's family in Lalaikbari village, 60km southeast of Tripura's state capital Agartala.
"The bodies were recovered by the police at dawn on Sunday from a thickly wooded area," D Gautam, Tripura's police superintendent in charge of counter insurgency operations, told AFP by telephone from Agartala.
