Sadr criticises Bush on troop pullout
(AFP)

NAJAF, Iraq - A radical Iraqi Shia cleric, whose militia clashed with US troops last year, criticised President George W. Bush on Thursday for refusing to set a date for a troop withdrawal from the war-torn country.

Moqtada Sadr called the speech a “blow to international public opinion, the United Nations and the Iraqi people, who demanded during the Cairo meeting a timetable for withdrawing occupation troops.”

...

“This speech is also an affront to the American people, who are demanding the return of their troops,” he added.

Sadr argued in his comments that a timetable “would not mean the victory of terrorist forces but would be a victory for all oppressed peoples.

How will Bushco respond to this? Partisan politics?

I didn't see the catagory Islamicist Militia-Death Squad/Torturers with ties to Iran (but they're "on our side";)).

5. Muqtada Al-Sadr has quite a bit of influence
among Iraqis. Particularly in Baghdad. When he speaks, people listen. He's seen as a younger, more fiery version of Ayatollah Al-Sistani.

Believe me, the U.S. pays very close attention to what he says. I read a humiliating story about how Al-Sistani could have the U.S. crushed if he wanted to. The U.S. had to beg and grovel, to try to negotiate with this man. He always refused to meet them face to face. Instead, he sent envoys. At that point, the U.S. knew they lost the war in Iraq.

But Al-Sistani saw his opportunity to kick out the Sunnis. Al-Sistani is the TRUE leader of iraq. By the way, he's Iranian.

See why we're Babes in the Woods?
