Bush's motorcade has minor accident

Associated Press

WASHINGTON - President Bush's motorcade had a minor accident Sunday when the ambulance that routinely trails the president in case of an emergency crashed into a support vehicle on the way back from Camp David.

Secret Service spokesman Jonathan Cherry said no one was injured and the motorcade did not stop before arriving at the White House. The presidential limousine, which travels near the front of the motorcade of more than a dozen vehicles, was not involved.

The accident occurred a few blocks from the White House. The motorcade's lead vehicles slowed down, but the ambulance did not stop in time and rear-ended a Chevy Suburban carrying high-tech communications equipment, damaging the back bumper and doors. The Suburban in turn hit a support van in front of it.

Cherry said all three vehicles had minor damage.

6. Well I guess it was news because
even though the accident had nothing to do with it, the Chump IS incapacitated. At least in an emotional/intellectual sense.

10. Those are OUR cars. These incompetents can't do a god
damn thing right! Most people in this country can't afford health care and the jug eared prick has an ambulance follow him around? Shit.

20. You have to wonder if it was an inattentive driver (only takes one)
or one of the hard cars was overdue for a brake job. Those things are so heavily armored, the gross tonnage takes a real toll--they have to change the brakes CONSTANTLY or you will end up careening into something. I've seen it happen, and damn, the repairs for failing to do the preventive maintenance are staggering.

15. can you believe all the stuff that
travels with him? An ambulance? A high tech suburban? What in f*ck is going on? What happened to the nearest hospital and the telephone to the home base? Getting him out of office will save us an incredible amount of wasted money. I don't want to save his pathetic little life.

19. SOP. Clinton got the same treatment
The bubble around the President has to be entirely self-sustaining. A lot of the upgrades came about as a result of Nov 63 in Dallas, and there were major refinements after the attempt on Reagan. Not that all of that fancy stuff would have helped Kennedy, but they want to not have any excuses...

If I had either the health or communications responsibilities in that environment, I'd go for overkill, too.

41. Sometimes, not so far forward!
That is why the vehicles all look the same, when they use the Suburbans. There will be three of them, sometimes more, and they switch around in a great big pack so you do not know which one the boyking is in. The windows are tinted so you cannot see in (the glass is real thick, too), they are all Hard Cars (heavy armor) so even if his is hit badly, they can swoop him up and drag him to another one to get away.

weather get in the way of * mini vacation every weekend. Why would he care if they are put at risk for his desires.

Glad no one in the support cars was hurt. I still :grr: when we had over a foot of snow, the helicopter couldn't fly so they used MSP to add to the convoy so he could go and get back again.

Washington D.C.-Dec. 5, 2005

A.P. My question is "were Pickles or the Chimp driving?" You know how he likes to dress up. Maybe he wanted to play at being an ambulance guy.

Apparently the Monkey was using the LIMO to come back from CD. A more humble prez would just stick to the SUVs, which are a bit less obvious (not much, but usually they are past you before you realize what you just saw). Look at MEEEEEEEEEEE in my FANCY car!!!!!!!!!
