Pyongyang Demands US Troop Pullout From South Korea
North Korea on Sunday demanded the United States withdraw its troops from South Korea, in a renewed campaign by the Stalinist state to drive a wedge in the US-South Korean alliance.

Some 32,500 US soldiers are stationed here to help South Korean military troops face up to North Korea's 1.2-million-strong army under a mutual defense treaty dating back to the 1950-1953 Korean War.

"The US should get rid of its old conception of the Cold War era and make a bold decision to withdraw its troops from South Korea without delay as required by the times and aspired by all the Koreans.".

The United States is in the process of reducing its forces on the Korean peninsula from 37,000 troops to 25,000 by 2008 and withdrawing them from the frontline with North Korea to bases south of Seoul.

3. Your probably right
Just looked up our trade relationship with S Korea and found this lovely bit of information on http://www.ers.usda.gov/Briefing/SouthKorea/trade.htm

South Korea's top three exports to the United States in 2004 were ramen (instant noodles), pears, and bean pastes, with U.S. imports from South Korea totaling $233 million.

I guess there not as important as I thought they were.

The Ramen supply keeps our colleges operating. They kept me from starving in college anyway.

8. S. Korean exports of phones, cars, and chips far exceed these
...agricultural exports reported on the USDA site. It was the inequality in our trade relationship in S. Korea's favor that fuels the continuous pressure to undue agricultural trade restrictions and subsidies to domestic Korean agricultural interests. There are cultural reasons for this as well as the Korean desire to keep their country from turning into nothing but blacktop, condos and a huge traffic jam.

11. The 32 thousand are here merely as a token force.
Personally, I'd be more than happy to see them gone.

12. Don't forget N. Korea!!!
the new propaganda is that Iran is going to build two more nuke reactor plants and could have the bomb in a year! but while moron* and his room full of dopes get boners over that, they seem to forget that that other member of the "axis of evil" N. Korea, actually has the bomb and actually has working reactor plants. Funny how they really don't give a shit about N. Korea. Maybe it has to do with the fact that N. Korea doesn't have any oil. Hmmm, that's a head scratcher, huh?

colossal racist lying failure*.
