BAGHDAD, Iraq - An Iraqi militant group has kidnapped a U.S. security consultant and is threatening to kill him in 48 hours unless Washington frees all Iraqi prisoners, according to a video aired by Al-Jazeera television on Tuesday.

The grainy video showed a blond, Western-looking man sitting down with his hands tied behind his back with the logo of the Islamic Army in Iraq. It also showed an American passport and an Arabic identity card bearing the name Ronald Schulz.

Al-Jazeera said it could not verify the authenticity of the tape. It said the man worked as a security consultant for the Iraqi housing ministry.

Al-Jazeera said the militants also demanded the U.S. government pay compensation to Iraqis affected by military offensives led by U.S. troops against militants in the Sunni Muslim-dominated Anbar province, which includes Ramadi and Fallujah

Gotta wonder how our poorly paid regular troops feel about the Big Buck BushCo Mercenaries who rake in the profits from this ugly oil war.

5. They're jealous.
There can't be any moral points of contention between them because they are all committing the same crimes.

The troops are just dumb enough to murder, torture, rape and destroy for low pay and silly slogans.

4. Iraq Video Claims to Show Captive American ('security consultant')
Iraq Video Claims to Show Captive American
By SAMEER N. YACOUB, Associated Press Writer

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Al-Jazeera broadcast a video Tuesday claiming insurgents kidnapped a U.S. security consultant, and the militants displayed a blond, Western-looking man sitting with his hands tied behind his back.

The video also bore the logo of the Islamic Army in Iraq and showed a U.S. passport and an identification card.

The authenticity of the video could not be immediately confirmed.

If true, the man would become the second American taken hostage in the last two weeks. A U.S. citizen was among four Christian peace activists taken hostage on Nov. 27 by a group calling itself the Swords of Righteousness Brigade. Two Canadians and a Briton were also part of that group.

6. US security adviser captured in Iraq
Tuesday 06 December 2005, 16:51 Makka Time, 13:51 GMT

A group calling itself the Islamic Army in Iraq has kidnapped a US security adviser, threatening to kill him in 48 hours unless the US military releases all Iraq prisoners.

Aljazeera aired video footage on Tuesday showing a man identified as Ronald Schulz, a security adviser for the Iraqi Housing Ministry.

The group said in the tape it captured the adviser and was giving the US military in Iraq 48 hours to release all Iraqi prisoners, otherwise it would kill him.

The group also demanded the US army compensate the people of Anbar governorate for the losses they have suffered from the frequent US attacks on their cities. Both Falluja and Ramadi are in Anbar province and have come under heavy US fire.

8. security adviser?

What is that? Like the 20,000 "security advisers" in Vietnam before we put soldiers there, is he in the US Armed Forces? Is he a contractor to the Pentagon? To the Iraqi Provisinal Authority? To the Iraqi government? To a private firm?
