Saddam threatens to boycott court hearings

BAGHDAD, Dec 6 (Reuters) - Saddam Hussein, telling his judges to "Go to hell" on Tuesday, threatened not to attend court in future, saying the trial was unfair.

"I will not attend an unfair trial," the ousted president repeated several times as he argued with the presiding judge at the close of the fourth day of hearings, complaining about his conditions of confinement and the burdens placed on defendants.

2. oh man, this is a circus
And yet oddly amusing. It's almost as fucked up as what's going on *inside* Iraq...

3. Why can't this be done in the hague?
It is completely ridiculous to hold this trial in Iraq with Iraqi judges - as the war rages outside. An international joke.

And wait until they execute Saddam. The newspeople will start telling fairytales like they told when Uday and the other schmuck's mangled bodies were displayed on television. "It's all over now!" they'll say. "The Iraqi people will now realize....etc." they'll say.

And we know what happens then....

4. Because if Saddam were given a fair trial, say, at the Hague...
then he MIGHT be acquitted. In Iraq, the outcome is pretty much a foregone conclusion....and George Dubya NEEDS that Saddam execution footage to pleasure himself to.

7. If in fact, Saddams' trial were to be held in the Hague.....
....both Cheney, Rumsfeld, and others in the administration would be charged with crimes against humanity for aiding and abetting Saddam. So don't hold your breath for a war crimes trial in the Hauge for Saddam Hussein.

5. From CNN.COM
"Anonymous witnesses, sitting behind a curtain and with voices disguised, gave evidence describing the 1992 killings."

Think about that.

Anonymous witnesses sitting behind a curtain. Even in the U.S., an accused has the right to confront his accuser.
