MILITARY INVESTIGATORS ARE exploring the possibility that the New People’s Army were behind the strafing of a building owned by First Gentleman Jose Miguel “Mike” Arroyo in Makati and other minor bombings in Metro Manila on Wednesday.

But National Capital Region Police Office chief Director Vidal Querol said on Friday no evidence had yet been found to link the communist rebels to the attacks.

Querol said that so far, the police had only established that the material used in bombing three cars in the cities of Parañaque, Quezon City and Caloocan was black powder, a low explosive.

But a less reticent Philippine National Police spokesperson Chief Supt. Leopoldo Bataoil supported the military’s claim that the NPA were responsible for the attacks.
