Poland named as main base for secret CIA terror interrogations

Poland is the CIA's main centre for detaining terrorist suspects in Europe at clandestine prisons, a leading human rights investigator has claimed.

Marc Garlasco, a senior military analyst with Human Rights Watch, said his organisation had documents proving Poland was "the main base" for interrogating prisoners and showing Romania was a transit point for moving terror suspects.

Poland's leaders continue vigorously to deny any involvement in alleged secret CIA prisons. But Mr Garlasco claimed: "Poland was the main base of interrogating prisoners and Romania was more of a hub.

"This is what our sources from within the CIA tell us and what is shown from the documents we gathered."

Mr Garlasco said an "operation on such a scale could not have happened without the knowledge of the Polish authorities. There are people who took part in it, there are flight records."

Ms Rice was in the news all this week: stating what the US wouldn't do regarding secret prisions,and torturing prisoners etc..

Her line that the US doesn't condone torture, don't have secret prisions, don't transport terrorist to other countries, and abhor torture....bla-bla-bla.

And those whom we trust to ask pertenant questions, on our behalf: the reporters, pundents,and media folks, fail to ask one simple meaningful question. Such as would you have allowed other's do, the durty work,on our behalf, if we pay you, hansomly, for your service?

Good lord, there are many secret thing going on in the Executive Branch...Whitehouse, Justice Department, the Pentegon, CIA, and FBI. There all working under top secret protection. Just about every questionable thing they do in that regard is classified top secret; including the clasified documents. There are many laws,and legal prescidents that suport secrecy :anyone in the Executive Branch of Government can do damn near anything they want, and get by with it.

It ironic, that in the US, people are arrested, tried and convicted of grevious crimes. Sentenced to life in prison or put on death row only to learn that someone else had committed the crime. Yet not a soul wonder why noone considers the fact that they've been fraimed. By the very people we trust to protect us; the police, in collusion with the prosecutors and judges. WHY? Somewhere I've read that some, notable person said "It's better to let a hundred guilty people to go free:than arrest one inocent person."
