Zogby: Bush Approval at 38%.
Edited on Tue Dec-13-05 03:05 PM by Mark E. Smith
After edging above 40%, it fades again.

President Bush's job approval rating languishes under 40%, despite an upturn in the economy and a public relations onslaught defending the role of the U.S. military in rebuilding Iraq, a new telephone poll by Zogby International shows.

Just 38% of Americans said they approve of the job the President is doing, down from 41% in a national Zogby America survey conducted last month.

The survey showed Mr. Bush is most popular in the western United States, where 46% approve of the job he is doing, and the South, where 44% approve. Just 28% in the East and 37% in the Midwest and Great Lakes states give him good marks.

Looks like Operation Enduring Bullshit isn't quite cutting it with the citizens. Is it just me, or are all these Bushie speeches about Iraq starting to sound like the disingenuous crap he was peddling about Social Security?

7. bush's bounce........
seems to have turned into a thud. All that taxpayer money spent on propaganda trying to convince the American people he's not a total loser. Wasted. The American people know a loser when the see one but it took them long enough to finally recognize it. You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. bush isn't intelligent enough to manage a 7-11.

his "uptick" was just a statistical hiccup. if you look at his popularity graph over time you'll see lots of these little bumps in the downward-slanting ramp leading to his ultimate hell-vent.

here he is versus nixon up to November...

12. What has he done in the last month to make it head south again?
He posed for the cameras a couple time, and tried in vain to speak English, but those should be indiscernible. And his media whores have been singing his praises. What's up?

In the upside, these stupid "elections" in Iraq are probably unlikely to help.

20. It is not what he has done
but what he hasn't. The Katrina evacuees are struggling with FEMA and can't get the trailers in NO (and other sites on the Gulf Coast) they were promised. The jobs are just not there and we have more layoffs down the pipeline. Just wait til fuel prices and the new higher minimum payment for credit card debt happen (via the changed bankruptcy bill) and all those adjustable rate mortgages ratchet up and people can't afford their home (the 'froth' in the Real Estate market). He'll be lucky if his numbers aren't scraping the floor.

21. OK, I guess
But those scripted speeches with backdrops (cloth and human) that I pay for usually make the middle-Americans all dewey-eyed and ready to go buy a bigger American flag. The dopes that voted for him usually lap this stuff up.

13. $457.00 is my current utility bill in N.E. WI
and we don't have xmas lights all over the house. I almost had a stroke when I opened it, although it has been unsually cold for the past month. We have not seen bills like this other than Jan. or Feb. in the past. And, mind you, we have very efficient heat--gas/hot water--with thermostats on all three levels of our house ( a quad level). There are going to be some people hurt badly by this around here. How sad.

34. Haven't heard a peep out of him on Social Security lately.
What happened, did he decide not to stay the course? It couldn't have anything to do with people not believing his BS, because he doesn't pay attention to polls.

Did his fiasco pass while I wasn't paying attention? Is that why he isn't out talking to Republican Old people who don't need Social Security to eat, who wouldn't have been impacted by his plan for those under 55.
