Ethics questions dog Ca. congressman; Owned cabin with A F Secretary
Congressman Duncan Hunter (R-CA), Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, has come under fire from constituents for accepting nearly a quarter million dollars in campaign contributions from missile defense contractors over the past five years. Hunter has also drawn criticism for accepting $46,000 from un-indicted co-conspirators implicated in bribing Hunter’s friend and San Diego colleague, Randy “Duke” Cunningham, who resigned from Congress after pleading guilty.

1. Ooooh, I hope they get this slime!
Every time I hear Hunter speak, I end up screaming at my TV!!!!

I can't believe he's so damn supportive of this war when his son is in Iraq as a soldier too!

5. Maybe his own words will come back to him, should the situation
Edited on Wed Dec-14-05 04:41 PM by Judi Lynn
get more serious for him:
"For Sunday they're going to be having Orange Glazed Chicken, Fresh Fruit Roupee, Steamed Peas and Mushrooms, Rice Pilaf - we treat them very well..."
If the worst happens, and he goes to jail, at least he can expect daily fine dining experiences courtesy of the U.S. taxpayers, just like the "terrorists" at Guantanamo.

7. You know, it's so predictable now...
I thought this has to be a repuke and wouldn't you know it, I was right. Granted, it wasn't much of a stretch but isn't getting kind of fucking ridiculous??

It's now an every damn day thing, one repuke after another.

I wake up, turn on the puter and boom there it is! Another repuke in trouble for today.

Someone should put out a repuke in trouble daily calendar.

Is there not a single one that isn't crooked??????? I know the answer to that one.

colossal racist failure*.

11. Culture of corruption absolutely!
This kind of bilge scum is ever present. It is the atmosphere of acceptance of 'just a little corruption' that puts dim bulbs like this guy
into an short sighted feeding frenzy. This shmoe is a canary in the mine. The big problem is not addressed by killing the canary.

12. Another dead canary could be a catalyst for change
If enough corruption is outed even the people not paying attention might look around, see all these dead birds, and start, just start to get fed up with it.

16. Never in my life have I seen such a web of corruption
that has just about every one of them involved in all the same scandals. Here is another example. From the article:

Titan has been implicated in the Abu Ghraib prisoner abuse scandal; a Titan employee was photographed beside the infamous naked prisoner pyramid. Two pending lawsuits alleged that Titan employees were involved in torture of prisoners; Titan has denied the allegations.

Democratic leaders have accused Hunter of being the single biggest force blocking investigation into the Abu Ghraib prison scandal as well as the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Despite a checkered track record, Titan was recently awarded over a half million dollars in contracts related to the Hurricane Katrina aftermath. The firm settled a bribery lawsuit in March filed by federal prosecutors under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, shelling out $28,500 in criminal and civil fines plus $61.5 million to settle securities fraud lawsuits filed by investors.

There is no scorecard, no playbook that could keep track of it all.
