Bush skeptical of voting test but will study Sancho's complaint

Gov. Jeb Bush said today that Leon County Elections Supervisor Ion Sancho may have a reputation as a "maverick" who uses "unorthodox" methods, but that the state will seriously consider Sancho's complaint that it's easy to cheat on some voting machines.

Earlier this week, Sancho said he will replace voting equipment in a dispute with the Diebold company. Sancho said security tests of 160 voting machines showed that they are vulnerable to hacking and manipulation of vote counts.

But Bush said Sancho sort of rigged the tests by allowing hackers to get computer access that they could never attain in a real election.

"It wasn't perfect," Bush said of the tests. "They gave them the source codes."

1. 1) It's source code, not source codes. 2) Diebold won't give out source
code. 3) If you read their report, any poll worker can get their hands on these cards.

6. But Of Course Jeb Knows They Are Flawed
It's the only way these criminals will ever get elected. Oh and of course we can't forget how the media is bought and paid for by the GOP propaganda team.

8. Something to do
between lunch and siesta for Jeb. At least besides the personal attacks he lays out cogent prejudgments so as to quell speculation he might be crazy enough to destroy his pet machinery.

That whiny pseudo-Dem commissioner of the butterfly ballots had taken several of those cards home with her. Publicized, criticized and dropped. She couldn't even rig enough for her own re-election.

We are almost sophisticated enough to lay out the groundwork for WHICH cheating methodology might be in order for each particular set of circumstances and operatives. Plainly, in a national election the national tabulation cheat sheets and coordination with state cheaters would be done by the WH cronies. Cards would be available to trusted little guys for close elections or invisibly pumping numbers for larger results statewide or nationwide. Kind of risky considering the large number of shills that must be using them or aware of them. The opti-scan and tabulation hacks from state headquarters. The locking away of accountability from precincts where the numbers must be fixed. Glitchy machines provide smoke to cover
all other shenanigans. That way you cover a multitude of hacks with the observation that the glitches miraculously favored the GOP, so what? You can even fix a few of the most absurd totals with no suspicion raised these "aberrations" were only a result of a vote fix gone awry among many others.

For a criminal investigator the who is the logical next step and I bet there are plenty of names since this computer semi-literate generation chose a forest of easy fraud rather than just a discreet protected method done by a few.

But the newspaper meme is far behind the eight ball in searching for the mythical teen hack who might elect Marilyn Manson for mayor instead of the glaringly obvious corporate hands that designed this cheat machine and the pols that installed them forcibly without the remotest possibility of accountability.

9. Is this a lie? Or the truth?

"It wasn't perfect," Bush said of the tests. "They gave them the source codes."

In the reports I've read, there's been no mention of the hacker having the source code. Where, in the various reports avilable to the public, does it say this?

If it's true, then isn't it a good thing that such a serious breach of security was found? Given the lack of official recognition of insecure e-voting systems, then for security's sake, make all e-voting software source codes publicly available!

12. Gov. Bush calls for further review of voting machines
Gov. Jeb Bush said the state should review the way it tests electronic voting machines after a local elections official said the devices could be hacked to change race outcomes.

Bush's remarks Friday come after the acting secretary of state, David Mann, said he was confident in the process of certifying voting machines. Mann said he was "concerned" only that Leon County Elections Supervisor Ion Sancho might have given an outsider access to computer codes for a test of the Diebold optical-scan machines.

Sancho sent state elections officials a letter Friday requesting they do "further investigation" of Diebold Election Systems Accuvote 2000. Sancho said his internal tests showed the optical-scan machine's memory card produces false results when hacked by elections office insiders.

Sancho persuaded Leon County commissioners Tuesday to scrap the Diebold system in favor of one manufactured by Election Systems & Software, which also makes the ATM-style touch-screen voting machines used in Miami-Dade and Broward.

17. The Bush Crime Family thinks that everyone is stupid except for
them. They figure that any lie that they throw out there will be believed no matter what. They have absolutely no shame. They will do anything to remain in power.

Jeb knows the truth...and is trying to prevent the truth from being told. Too late, Jeb...we have all known it for a long time. Your family and associates are a bunch of cheaters, liars, and crooks.

Fuck you, Jeb.

I tried to pull this together yesterday .... in Ohio the repugs are trying to pass laws to keep the public
from looking @ the machines ..... "they" know "they" have been winning by Cheating in 2000, 2002, & 2004.

The test proved that the machines could easily be hacked, so of course the tests must be wrong.

16. That fat fucker is about 4 years too late to be doing this.........
Those shitstain Bushes are always missing the boat.

Chimpy was 4 days too late to respond to last year's tsunami in Asia. Chimpy was 5 days too late in responding to the devastation of the levees breaching in New Orleans in September.

And now, this double-chinned asswipe wants to review the Diebold machines now? Instead of 5 years ago when it would have seriously mattered?

Fuck you, Jeb!

21. Thanks for the reminder, Bo
Yes, the machine did steal those votes for *. You'd think honest politicians woulda stopped e-voting right then and there. They must not be honest, eh?

The only way anyone could imagine that the elections weren't stolen would be that they think the rep-tiles are honest. Some of us know better....
