Cheney May Be Tiebreaker on Budget Cuts (cheney on his way home)
WASHINGTON - A Senate vote on a deficit-reduction bill looks to be so tight that Vice President Dick Cheney is said to be rushing home from an overseas diplomatic mission to be the tiebreaker for saving one of the Bush administration's top priorities.

The showdown vote loomed on the bill, which would cut some federal benefits and trim budget deficits by $40 billion through the end of the decade.

Cheney was in Pakistan Tuesday to check on U.S. aid to victims of an October earthquake that killed as estimated 75,000 people. He also met with President Pervez Musharraf.

Whether the vice president is needed for the budget vote may rest with Nebraska Sen. Ben Nelson (news, bio, voting record), who was one of two Democrats to vote for the bill when it passed 52-47 last month.

5. Ben Nelson ISN'T a Democrat though is he?
Have you seen his voting record? I don't care that he's from a red state...Mary Landrieu's from a red state too, and yet she manages to vote 90% of the time with the party she belongs to the Democratic Party.

Ben Nelson even voted to cut off debate on the Patriot Act. The man's a complete pig fucker.

2. Cheney May Be Tiebreaker on Spending Cuts (Skips trip...comes home)
WASHINGTON - A Senate vote on a deficit-reduction bill looks to be so tight that Vice President
Dick Cheney was rushing home from an overseas diplomatic mission to be the tiebreaker for saving one of the Bush administration's top priorities.

The budget vote is expected to be a close one — last month the bill squeaked through the Senate in a 52-47 tally. Nebraska Sen. Ben Nelson (news, bio, voting record) was one of two Democrats to vote for the bill then, and is considered a swing vote this week.

4. I don't know why they're wasting taxpayers money bringing Cheney back
Considering Ben Nelson IS a REPUBLICAN, he's NOT a "swing vote"...he votes 98% of the time in full lock-step with his real party.

The bastard Ben Nelson will give them the vote they need. What a complete waste of taxpayers money bringing the Dickhead back from Pakistan.

6. Meeting with Musharraf?
Perhaps conferring with the bag boy to arrange 9-11 v.2.0 so we can finally have the police state of their dreams...
