U.S. Hard-Liners Tamed by Iraq but Retain Clout
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The hard-liners in and around the Bush administration may have lost some influence because of Washington's problems in Iraq but their views still count and they are not about to lose their jobs, analysts say.

The hard-liners, or neoconservatives, who argued that Iraqis would welcome the U.S. invasion and embrace Washington's vision for their future, have had to postpone some of their more ambitious plans to reshape the Middle East in U.S. interests.

Neoconservative columnist William Kristol, for example, said last month he would rather be talking about the "next regime-change candidates" instead of Iraq -- a reference to potential targets such as Iran, Syria and North Korea.

"But history doesn't always allow you to move on as quickly as you'd like from moving one horrible dictator to another, and we need to finish the job in Iraq, obviously," he told the American Enterprise Institute, a bastion of hard-line thinking.

1. What a Free-market Stalinist joke
"Hard-liners" Last time I heard that term was in refernce to Soviet Commies.

Quite fitting, since the Busheviks are so much like the Bolsheviks (with the exception of rationalizations for Tyranny, and the fact that our Hard-Liner are still far from finishing their transformation of Amerika into a Totalitarian Empire).

Laughable. As if the Busheviks, from the lowest Rovian Dirty Trickster to Bunnypants* himself aren't anti-American Hard-Liners.

Hey Kristol, you war pig freak! Put a damn uniform on and go run around the middle east playing shoot 'em up with your own ass on the line!

Limousine warriors, that's what they are!

6. William Kristol's War Record
William Kristol once sat next to a Marine on an airplane. He also rode an escalator a couple of steps behind two Air Force guys. He sat in the same restaurant with a group of Army officers who were chatting about football.

All told, Kristol has a well-rounded military background.

3. All these guys remind me
of Marie Antionette. Let's hope their heads roll as well as hers did.

Let the Neocons eat Yellow Cake!
