NY1 Projects defeat of Proposition 3
Only 53% of the precincts reporting in, but it looks a little something like this:

YES: 29%
NO: 71%

You can sometimes count on us New Yorkers to smell it when somebody tries to pull a fast one on us. The most delicious part is that Bloomberg spent --- and LOST --- $2 million of his own money on this, only to see it smacked the fuck down. SHA ZAM!!!!

6. You got that right
Are you watching this idiot on NY1 saying that this doesn't affect our wonderful mayor's standing with New Yorkers? Well, he's right about that --- we all still hate him.

13. Tee hee
I have hated Bloomberg since before he was even elected. I want to see his mayorship (mayoralty? mayoralism? what word am I looking for here?) go down in flames, shame, and humiliation. And I hope it ends up being very expensive for him to keep his approval rating slightly above 20%.

The Mayor is referred to as "His Honor".

The former Mayor, Rudy Giuliani, endorsed Prop 3, giving it the kiss of death in my opinion. And possibly in the opinion of thousands of other New Yorkers.

20. Yep
I was opposed to it anyway but when I came home to find a pre-recorded message from Herr Douchebag Giuliani that was just gravy. It might as well have been a message from Dick Cheney or Ann Coulter.

22. The Wonders of Technology
With the wonders of technology, there could be a tape of all three: Cheney, Coulter and Giuliani. There are a few others from the media that I could throw in. I heartily dislike George Will, f'rinstance. Tim Russert is no bargain, either.

10. They haven't reported these yet
More to follow on those. Proposition 3 was the most controversial one so it makes sense that they would call that one as early as possible.

15. Two million dollars? That's his pocket change.
He's got lots left for the next idiot notion.

And, mind you, I like the guy. I do. But sometimes, usually to do with rich guy perks, he's just nuts.

17. I know
It's just nice to see a rich person spend money on something they want and NOT get it.

To give Bloomberg credit where credit is due: he inherited one hell of a godawful mess, and I know I couldn't do any better under the same circumstances. However, that's outweighed for me by his political opportunism, his gleeful playing of the Giuliani Card, and, most of all, the horrible, cringe-inducing sound of his voice.

21. The Giuliani Card
Anytime a candidate plays the Giuliani card, I automatically prefer the other guy. I've hated Giuliani from the time he was obscure, and as Mayor he was a horror.

23. Can't argue with that
There are few figures in NYC public life as loathesome as that man. There is no language I can use that is strong enough to quantify my hatred for him. The one good thing I can say about him is that he crystallized in my mind a Republican trait that is now commonplace --- utter hypocrisy. He was having "marital troubles" at the same time as Clinton's impeachment, and I was certain that the holier-than-thou Republicans would distance themselves from him for his failure to embrace family values. Imagine my surprise to learn that it was purely partisan bullshit with no basis in any kind of belief or morality at all!

Of course, they tend to also gloss over the fact that he was at one point MARRIED TO HIS FUCKING COUSIN, so what did I expect really?
