Insurgents Strike US Compound in Mosul
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=540&ncid=716&e=3&u=/ap/20031105/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq

<snip>
An Iraqi teenager was killed in the blast near Mosul's city hall, hospital sources said. Two others were slightly injured.

No U.S. casualties were reported in that incident or an early morning attack on a barracks by insurgents using rocket-propelled grenades, the U.S. military said.

Mosul, Iraq (news - web sites)'s third-largest city, had been relatively quiet in the past several months, but the security situation has deteriorated since October.

The continuing attacks by shadowy groups of Iraqi resistance fighters have cast doubt on the ability of the U.S.-led coalition to contain the growing insurgency, and have sparked an exodus from Baghdad of international organizations and diplomats from several Western countries.

2. Definition of 'Insurgent'
insurgent

adj : in opposition to a civil authority or government n 1: a person who takes part in a rebellion in the hope of improving conditions 2: a member of an irregular armed force that fights a stronger force by sabotage and harassment

Seems like an accurate description to me. I'm just surprised that they're not labeled as "terrorists".
