27. Yep. The leaker turned in the fascists that are illegally spying on
totally innocent folks that pose no terrorist threat whatsoever.

Just remember, folks: Under the "Patriot Act", anyone, no matter how non-violent, that criticizes the fascist dictatorship of Bu$h and his administration, is considered a terror suspect by these fascist PNAC lunatic sociopaths.

The leaker is, indeed, a great American Patriot, and I am so very grateful to her for her choosing to place the well-being of our nation above concern for her personal safety.

6. not a bright move imho
it will serve mostly to have things end up a matter of record in a court and i'm sure people will be called to testify under OATH about it. LOTS of interesting questions will be asked. this tactic will backfire. and more details are emerging almost daily.

Funny how they pooh-poohed the threat to national security that Plamegate opened up. Most people don't even know about the "front" company being shut down due to that leak. They made it seem all "political", no big deal.

And by that I mean if there was any type of real investigation by this DOJ, then KKKarl and Scooter would have been indicted LONG LONG LONG ago.

Fitz having to go it alone without help is not right. He should have had the full cooperation and the full truth out of the felons in the bush** administration instead of having to dig for every scrap of it.

Bush had called disclosure a ‘shameful act’; NY Times reported NSA story

Updated: 11:54 a.m. ET Dec. 30, 2005
WASHINGTON - The Justice Department has launched an investigation to see who disclosed details about a secret domestic eavesdropping operation, department officials said Friday.

“We are opening an investigation into the unauthorized disclosure of classified materials related to the NSA,” one official said, referring to the National Security Agency.

President Bush earlier this month said that he presumed such an investigation was under way. The program, under which the president authorized telecommunications surveillance without a court order, was disclosed by The New York Times, which attributed its information to sources.

20. Investigating the leak
instead of the illegal program itself. It amazes me that they actually think they can spin this to make the whistleblower look like the threat to America instead of those who have turned the US Constitution into a manuscript about as meaningful as a thesaurus. A reference source when needed to enhance their own arguments, but most of the time it is ignored while gathering dust on a shelf. These criminals are so far removed from reality they believe they can break the law with impunity with no consequence whatsoever.

First, about a year ago, somebody at the New York Times hears that a criminal administration is using an unconstitutional, criminal agency for illegally eavesdropping on Americans communicating with Americans and anyone else on the other end of a message that comes from or goes to a foriegn place.

What makes it criminal is the fact that in spite of having all the time in the world to go to a FISA judge and get it rubber stamped, they fear this simple legal requirement so much they are willing to break the law to do it.

Somehow, an unconstitutional blank-check-of-marquee resident CIA Mafia-Frankenstien propaganda agent, watchdogging/working in the New York Times, immediately gets a couple of Tory-Conservative Neo-Christian Fascist, so-called 'republicans' (who dearly want to escalate this religious-fascist world war with Islam over the theft of Jerusalem into a Jew-exterminating Armaggedon Holocaust to conjure-up their Neo-Christ) over from the Administration to convince the Time's office to bury the story, presumably to prevent the CIA's top agent, Osama Bin Laden, (who never heard of Echelon?) from not sending "don't forget the bomb" type emails or phonecalls to his fellow American AQ-CIA operatives here in this country.

Now it seems to me that if you don't want to get a warrant, the only purpose that could serve would be to avoid a paper trail, identifying who you spied on and what you were spying about. There is no other possible explanation, especially when you have 72 hours to make up your mind.

SO apparently because the unconstitutional no-standing-army Pentagon's unconstitutional peacetime blank-check-of-marquee DIA has revealed that it was doing the same thing before 911, presumably to make sure that the unconstitutional bank-of-marquee NSA wouldn't be hip to what they were up to with the hijackers, and who ever-so conveniently destroyed every last bit of the data along with the last sample of the Ames Strain of anthrax that was used for the secure-the-site murder of the head photo editor of the top private domestic intelligence agency (American Media) days before the faces of the 'unknown' hijackers faces had to be revealed, the Times reluctantly broke the story!

Meanwhile the police are doing nothing about arresting any of these criminals and the so-called "Justice" department is investigating the reporters of the crime!!!

And now these religious-fascists are running around telling us that those criminal, untrustworthy treasonous FISA judges just couldn't be trusted and their Dubya-Dubya III with Islam (war on terror? haha) is now seriously damaged by this "leak" --- ?????

Well I only have one thing to say to you Mr NSA criminal - how is that report for Mullah Falwell doing?

Investigation launched into leak of NSA spying
Last Updated Fri, 30 Dec 2005 21:33:16 EST
CBC News

The U.S. Justice department is launching an investigation into the disclosure of information that President George Bush ordered a secret eavesdropping program aimed at American citizens.

The New York Times reported two weeks ago that Bush ordered the super-secret National Security Agency to monitor phone calls and e-mails without first seeking court approval.

Critics say Bush broke the law when he authorized the actions.

For its part, the Whitehouse says that, besides being legal, the controversial spying has helped keep the U.S. safe from terrorists.

44. DOJ - Save Your Money! I Know Who Leaked!
It was Bush.
Immediately following 9-11, he publicly announced he was granting unlimited surveillance powers to the FBI, in spite of the FBI being under investigation for mass corruption PRIOR to 9-11.
Bush publicly announced that we should "pay attention to your neighbors...pay attention to what your neighbors are up to", encouraging citizens to spy on each other.
Bush publicly announced the powers the NSA would have...

Stop wasting money on finding out "who leaked security information during wartime" (quote Bush), when this war was founded on a lie, told by Bush himself.
