White House will continue tracking
http://tinyurl.com/cw5e4

NEW YORK - The White House said Friday its Web site will keep using Internet tracking technologies, deciding that they aren't prohibited after all under 2003 federal privacy guidelines.

The White House's site uses what's known as a Web bug — a tiny graphic image that's virtually invisible — to anonymously keep track of who's visiting and when. The bug is sent by a server maintained by an outside contractor, WebTrends Inc., and lets the traffic-analysis company know that another person has visited a specific page on the site.

1. Won't this bit of stupidity simply lower their traffic?

2. I've stopped going there
years ago, but why the need to track people? It's not like they are trying to sell a product so they need to figure out our shopping styles. Could it be for more nefarious reasons?

5. They want to know who is watching them.
This is late Nixon style paranoia. Self defeating but also, dangerous for us.

I hope you have a personal safety plan and one for the school, too. :(

6. Hell my own freeper Uncle is probably reporting on me to them.
He's a lunatic. A personal safety plan? Not really? I wouldn't know where to begin to create one.

I put together enough stuff for us to shelter in place for two weeks OR, the stuff we need to evacuate with the pets (that's a bunch of cats and an old arthritic dog). I worked on it for about a month, and it cost about $350.00.

Next, a neighbor and I are going to get a plan together for the hood -- pegging the homes with elderly, kids, disabled folks so we know what we're dealing with.

This is a good site for ordering emergency type supplies. Their customer service is excellent and their prices are about the best I found, anyway, fyi:

You just know every one will be in some type of mess in this as that is how the last 5 years have gone on just about every thing.
