1. From Allah we come, and to Allah we shall return.
Shaikh Maktoum brought many reforms to his country and people. May his successor be equally wise, inshallah.

What do you think will happen now JCMach1, what are you observations?

2. The Business of Dubai is Business
Business as usual...

Shk. Maktoum was a very important Arab leader and a prime-mover in reform across the region. The UAE is moving towards full Democracy (for citizens at least) and part of the reason was Shk. Maktoum.

His legacy is Dubai... a city on the verge of becoming the Hong Kong of the 21st century.

8. What was that directive from Dumbass to the CIA about giving
them back official assasination powers?

Maktoum was a wily old bastard, whose recent self-etoilation via horse racing glory and promotion of so-called leadership skills was a serious attempt to whitewash over distinctly murky, unpalpable past.

Those who knew him well over the last 30 years or so will hardly grieve his passing, but a few eyebrows may be raised at the timing of his sudden and unexpected departure.

Shaikh Mohammed, the new Ruler of Dubai, may have overplayed his hand at last.
