Presidential aides eye Abramoff visits

Aides to President George W. Bush are trying to identify all photos that may exist of showing the president and lobbyist Jack Abramoff together.

Time magazine reported Sunday that administration officials, bracing for the worst, obtained from the Secret Service a list of all the times Abramoff entered the White House complex -- and were scrambling to determine the reason for each visit.

Abramoff attended Hanukkah and holiday events at the White House, said an aide who has seen the list. Press Secretary Scott McClellan said Abramoff might have attended large gatherings with Bush but added, The president does not know him, nor does the president recall ever meeting him.

Local Washington DC rug dealers and broom suppliers are reporting record profits. Sales of rugs and brooms to the White House have tripled since 2001.

A White House official, speaking on the condition of anonimity, said "We're running out of floor space for places to put the rugs. In some rooms we have them doubled stacked...."

prove that Bush knew Abramoff and that he lied once again. I am sure that Cheney and his wife knew Abramoff and that most of the head evangelicals of the RW Christian coalition were working for him.

I saw some of those videos back in '99 or early 2000. Corporate logo was clearly visible. Kenny Boy loaned a corporate plane which was used extensively by GWB prior to the Republican National Convention in the summer of 2000.

I'd like to see those news clips again.

In that year, Abramoff charged the Marianas for getting then-Texas Gov. George W. Bush to write a letter expressing support for the Pacific territory's school choice proposal, his billing records show.

"I hope you will keep my office informed on the progress of this initiative," Bush wrote in a July 18, 1997, letter praising the islands' school plan and copying in an Abramoff deputy.

White House spokeswoman Erin Healy said Thursday that Bush didn't consider Abramoff a friend. "They may have met on occasion, but the president does not know him," she said."

Abramoff didn't just meet with White House officials. He met personally with the President, and the White House has done everything it can to avoid disclosing the date of the meeting.

I think one of the meetings was sometime between September 5, 2001, when the 9/11 terrorists visited Abramoff's casino boat, and September 11, 2001.

(That's just a guess, by the way, but it would fit perfectly with everything else.)
