Almost Half of Americans Expect Terrorist Attack in 2006
Still, few are "very worried" they will be victims

GALLUP NEWS SERVICE

PRINCETON, NJ -- Almost half of all American adults, 45%, believe it is likely the United States will suffer a terrorist attack in 2006, according to a CNN/USA Today/Gallup survey, conducted Dec. 16-18. A bare majority, 51%, thinks such an attack is unlikely.

Although many opinions related to terrorism and the war in Iraq are highly related to people's partisan orientation, in this case there are only minor differences between Republicans and Democrats, with independents being the outliers. By 62% to 37%, independents believe an attack is likely, while majorities of Democrats and Republicans say an attack is unlikely.

1. we've become a culture of paranoids
locked behind steel gates, muttering to ourselves about the 'next attack', and protecting ourselves from all the 'terrorists', by terrorizing other countries.

How we got from Land of the Free and the Brave to Land of the Perpetually Paranoid is something historians and sociologists will debate for decades, but I think you could boil it all down to two words: "American Idol". :puke:

7. That was not a Census 2000 question.
I worked on the Census in 2000. Census questions are demographic in nature and are not opinion oriented.

BTW, at least 50% of the voting population are too lazy too vote or simply don't care. Of those who do vote, at least 25% would follow Bu$h* off a cliff if he asked them. Fools.

Why bother? The nazi party writes the closed-source software for the voting machines of Diebold, ES&S, Sequoia, etc.

24. I'm hoping they'll fix the code in time
and besides, * likes to make a splash..."shock and awe" the world. He'd like to quarantine us, mandatory injections, finish us off and set the world right for Jesus.
But in truth, you are pobably right...they'll just steal as blatantly as both 2000 and 2004...after all, we don't care enough to do anything about it. We whine and nibble cheese (no, I'm NOT slamming the French...sounds like it though, doesn't it?) But really, when are we going to do something?

11. I Recommend this because it will happen prior to the 06 elections.

IMHO, late summer their will be TERRA. Whether the TERRA be bird flu or another major attack it will happen. We have learned if anything form MR Danger that he uses fear prior to the elections.
Remember all of the fake TERRA alerts prior to the last election. I feel MR Danger will ramp up the fear in the form of a bird flu outbreak prior to the election.

13. Why not? They've primed us for a biological/nuclear attack for years
The PNAC said we needed a "New Pearl Harbor" before we could go to war with Iraq.

Got it.

The same folks have warned us now for the past four years of a major biological/nuclear attack.

Who has both weapons ready to go?

I'm just providing the dots. You have to connect them.

Edited on Mon Jan-09-06 03:09 PM by mcscajun
The headline is bass-ackwards.

51% think such an attack unlikely...so if there's a story here at all, the headling should be:
Over Half of All Americans Think Terrorist Attack Unlikely in 2006

Not much of a story though, is it? Neither is the one they generated.
