85,000 GIs Told They're Heading to Iraq

Do I catch a whiff of eau de "Invasion of Persia (Iran)" beneath this chess move?

Ain't sure. But it smells strangely ugly.

5. Not a chance- Bush* is learning the Odessa Lesson

During WWII, the Germans needed a three to one ratio to suppress partisan activity in occupied areas of the Soviet Union.

Just working the numbers- less then half of the 130,000 we have on the ground actually fight- and the remainder must operate on a sleep rotation, cutting the actual combat forces down again by another factor.

A 'pre-emptive' invasion of Iran without allied support? Not way.

9. As if this administration looks back at history???
85,000 is a signifigant number. They just got the 87 billion and all they need is Isreal to step up to the plate to create a diversion OR SHOULD A SAY THE ESCAPE GOAT once again.

Isreal hasn't heard our warning, well at least so we are to believe. Isreal hits Syria, Syria attack Isreal, Iran also attacks ISreal, Us works the Iraqie boarders, and helps Isreal with a couple of bombings, Isreal is down on its back so it has to use nukes and the whole thing ends with The US in the center ring watching the tent burn to the ground, Then the US cries see see we've tried at least, The US then looks like the good guy, all the while the whole thing originated and was orchestrated by the US, Then US controls the whole region.

God..... democracy is such a wonderful concept, we have to beat it into you, untill you believe.

Things are down for dubya and his reich. He has a holy mission to accomplish and nothing short of trying to save the world of terrorism, will get him through those pearly gates.

Remember Dubya is a gambleing man.

Iran 'Up to Eyeballs' in Terror - Pentagon Adviser

Thu November 6, 2003 10:11 AM ET
By Mark Trevelyan, Security Correspondent

BERLIN (Reuters) - Influential Pentagon adviser Richard Perle said on Thursday that Iran was "up to its eyeballs in terrorism" and the United States should quietly be encouraging a democratic revolution from within.

"Is there any doubt about Iran's support for terrorism, about their payments to Hamas and Hizbollah?" Perle said in a speech in Berlin, referring to Islamic radical groups.

Speaking later to Reuters, he said there was "massive discontent" among Iranians with their ruling Islamic clerics.
"I think we may well see a regime change in Iran brought about by Iranians, but they need some help. They need more broadcasting so that communications are improved. We should be prepared to help them get newspapers published in their own country," Perle said.

"I think the potential is there for regime change, but we should encourage it." (snip/...)

8. A friend of mine got orders to go in Mid Nov.
She was scheduled to leave the day after her birthday. We planned a big going away/come home safely/birthday party for her. She was then told they moved it back to mid Dec. We rejoiced thinking one more change would leave her here for the holidays.

The next week, she was told that she was leaving a little sooner than planned... like that weekend! She has been in Iraq for about 2 weeks now. The party was set for the 15th of Nov.

11. That SUCKS!
I hope and pray your friend returns safe and whole.

My co-worker and friend got out of the reserves two weeks before Operation Occupation was launched - she saw what was coming - and her unit just got sent to Iraq last week after being in Bosnia for ages. Needless to say, she is very glad she decided to abandon the reserves.

Again, your friend is in my thoughts.

14. Check the next paragraph on that story!!!
"In addition, nearly 47,000 National Guard and Reserve forces are in the process of being notified that they will be activated to serve in Iraq or Afghanistan (news - web sites)"

85,000 PLUS 47,000 = 132,000

132,000 of our sons and daughters primed to serve -- under sworn oath -- the oily interests of BushCo. in a far-away foriegn land.

"People say, how can I help on this war against terror? How can I fight evil? You can do so by mentoring a child; by going into a shut-in's house and say I love you."
