Republicans Push Bush on Abramoff Contacts - AOL News
Hopefully this isn't a dup if so I apologize in advance. I did a quick visual scan but search is down due to traffic so ??

From HERE:
WASHINGTON (Jan. 30) - Some of President Bush's fellow Republicans in Congress are urging him to publicly disclose White House contacts with disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

Releasing records would help eliminate suspicions that Abramoff, who assisted in raising more than $100,000 for Bush's re-election campaign but has since pleaded guilty to felonies, had undue influence on the administration, they said in television interviews Sunday.

<snip>

"I think this president is a man of unimpeachable integrity," Pence said. "The American people have profound confidence in him. And as Abraham Lincoln said, `Give the people the facts and republican governance perhaps will be saved."'

<snip>
In a Washington Post-ABC News poll released Friday, 76 percent of those surveyed said the administration should provide a list of all meetings any White House officials have had with Abramoff. Two in three Republicans joined with eight in 10 Democrats and political independents in favoring disclosure, according to the poll.

(Gotta love the 3rd paragraph. Unimpeachable integrity... profound confidence in him... yeah right... :rofl: )

There's also two Poll questions:
Will pressure from the GOP sway the White House to release its records?
No 55%
Yes 30%
I'm not sure 16%
Do you care whether the White House releases data on its ties with Jack Abramoff?
Yes - I want to know 82%
No - It's not relevant 16%
I'm not sure 2%
Total Votes: 54,129

So BushCo, etc... what happened to "If you have nothing to hide...." ?? :eyes:

4. If records are released, it will show how little integrity chimpy has.
So, talking heads will keep blathering about how * should release them. If he releases them, he's cooked. If he does nothing, he wins. The prostitutes for shrub will still think he's Jesus.

5. You have to wonder what kind of morals or ethics,
the 16% have "Do you care whether the White House releases data on it's ties to Jack Abramoff"? I wonder what they would think of ties with Al Capone?

Risky assumption, imo.

10. was that the unimpeachable integrity of skipping out on guard duty, doing
coke, lying about and hiding his DUI conviction, profiting off his daddy's buddies in the Rangers sale, or insider trading at Arbusto?

somehow, methinks the use of "unimpeachable" is a mite hopeful.
