We will not back down, Karzai warns Pakistan
Very worrying. The thought of Afghanistan & Pakistan at war is not something I am exactly enamoured of.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2003/07/18/wafg18.xml&sSheet=/portal/2003/07/18/ixportaltop.html&secureRefresh=true&_requestid=51031

President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan warned Pakistan yesterday that his country would no longer condone Pakistani aggression.

In an interview with The Telegraph, Mr Karzai stressed that he sought "a civilised relationship with Pakistan", but was unwilling to back down in an ever more serious confrontation between two of America's foremost allies in the war on terrorism.

The dispute on the long Afghan-Pakistani border, the Durrand Line, has intensified dramatically, escalating into exchanges of mortar and artillery fire in Afghanistan's remote and mountainous border region. Pakistani units have advanced five miles beyond the Durrand Line, drawn by the British Raj in the late 19th century.

3. Who will Bush support in this dispute?
Will we now have to invade Pakistan? (We are too cowardly to invade a well-armed and trained nation). We will, however, take all comers about equal to Saddam's Iraq...that is...after we disarm them and bomb them for 12 years.
