The rush to revise ethics laws in the wake of the Jack Abramoff political corruption scandal has turned into more of a saunter.

Government watchdog groups are disappointed by the pace. "Particularly in the House, the progress is very slow and may end up with very little reform," said Melanie Sloan, executive director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.

1. That article covers 6 repubs (7 counting Abramoff) and on the 2nd page

they *mention* a Democrat. No quote.

Only the subtitle ids the failure as the GOP's and THEN only as one of scheduling.

Not very "balanced"

just alot of blather, bluster and hot air -- then nothing

if the repugs really came out with reforms then it would be admitting that there's something wrong with their ethics

another scandal swept under the rug
