Bush Makes Surprise Visit to Afghanistan
March 1, 2006

BAGRAM AIR BASE, Afghanistan - President Bush made a surprise visit to Afghanistan on Wednesday, flying here secretly to support its fledging government in the face of rising violence from al-Qaida and Taliban militants.

Bush made a detour from a trip to India for a five-hour visit here that was not announced officially until Air Force One landed at this sprawling military base north of Kabul.

The White House wanted to conceal Bush's presence to reduce the risk of any attempt on his life. But word of his visit leaked shortly before he landed.

From Bagram, Bush was to go to the presidential place in Kabul for a meeting Hamid Karzai, the U.S.-backed leader.

The president also was to preside over a ceremonial ribbon-cutting for the U.S. Embassy. Before leaving Afghanistan, Bush was to get a pep talk to troops back at Bagram Air Base.

10. He Should Be
He should be afraid of every other person on the planet, because he is so thoroughly unloved.

6. The little turd is really fond of embroidery, isn't he?
I imagine he figures that if he has his name on everything he wears, he won't have to give it back when he slinks out of Washington.

11. give this a day or so and it will be revealed it was not in the least bit
'a surprise'. we'll learn this had been in the planning for weeks if not longer. scotty will do his usual soft shoe in denying so, and the late night hosts will get a few jokes out of it.

12. There is no surprise that George W. Bush went to Afghanistan.
Edited on Wed Mar-01-06 10:47 AM by bobthedrummer
There is the plan of the PNAC/BFEE traitors to consider.

So while he is in S.E.Asia there is a history to consider.

Much of this history involves people like Laili Helms, Christina Rocca and Condoleeza Rice.
They are part of the BFEE.

With out personal speculation, consider these articles that give a broader perspective to George. W. Bush's current itinerary.

17. "Surprise"? Huh?
Am i crazy, or did John Stewart on The Daily Show mention something about bush flying to afghanistan to sleep on a base rather than in New Dehli (and then flying back the following day?)?

Honestly i had been expecting a photo op like this...

22. I too could have sworn
that a few days ago there was a thread here prompted by speculation that Bush would go to Afghanistan during his visit to India. I know that I wasn't particularly surprised to hear that he had shown up there because of the earlier thread.
