Bush Confident Bin Laden Will Be Captured

KABUL, Afghanistan - President Bush, on an unannounced visit to Afghanistan, said Wednesday he remains confident Osama bin Laden "will be brought to justice" despite a so-far futile five-year hunt.

Bush also suggested that the United States and India, where he was headed next, have still not reached a deal over U.S. help for India's civilian nuclear program.

"People all over the world are watching the experience here in Afghanistan," Bush said as he stood side-by-side with Afghan President Hamid Karzai.

Amid extremely tight security, Bush made the surprise visit in Afghanistan at the onset of a scheduled visit to India and Pakistan.

It seems now that Bush never intended to catch OBL. He took care of the family by flying them back to Saudi Arabia and then waited several months before sending even Special Forces in to Afghanistan.

Bush Says Osama bin Laden Will Be Brought to Justice

March 1 (Bloomberg) -- President George W. Bush, on a surprise trip to Afghanistan today, said he was "confident"" the fugitive al-Qaeda terrorist leader Osama bin Laden will be "brought to justice."

Bush made an unannounced detour on his way to India and landed at Bagram Air Base amid heavy security at about 1 p.m. local time. He met President Hamid Karzai in Kabul, where the two leaders held a joint press conference.

"I am confident he will be brought to justice," as well those who plot with him, Bush said when asked about progress in hunting down the mastermind behind the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. "It is not a matter of 'if' they are captured but just when they are brought to justice."

Bush later landed in New Delhi, where thousands of demonstrators were gearing up to protest his visit...
