Violence rages in Iraq (3/2)
http://today.reuters.com/news/NewsArticle.aspx?type=worldNews&storyID=2006-03-02T164856Z_01_MAC231520_RTRUKOC_0_US-IRAQ.xml

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A bomb that killed five people in a Shi'ite militia stronghold and a machinegun attack on a top Sunni politician fueled fears of civil war in Iraq on Thursday after a week of bloodshed that has left hundreds dead.

As more signs emerged that U.S.-backed efforts to form a unity government were in disarray over the Shi'ites' choice of Ibrahim al-Jaafari to stay as premier, a blast ripped through a Baghdad market and gunmen killed a Sunni imam in the south.

Jaafari, under pressure from Sunnis, Kurds and others threatening to remove him, held meetings to end the standoff. Opponents want him to step aside as the price for joining a coalition Washington sees as the best hope for stability.

State television showed live pictures of him meeting Sunni, Kurdish, secular and fellow Shi'ite leaders at his office, along with senior U.S. diplomats and the British ambassador.

3. It doesn't matter anymore who they put in charge. The minds
of these people are made up and they all have their own 'agenda'. And if it means killing every innocent bystander on the street then by God (and Allah), they're going to do just that.

Iraq is lost. Has been since Shock and Awe. bush** is just too stupid to know what everyone else knows. He created a bloodbath, he started a war that him and his buddies just weren't able to fight. Of course, you have to have some experience and knowledge about war to win one.

4. are you people crazy?
didn't you read the post from over at Free Republic yesterday that said the whole ports media blitz was to "coverup" all the good news about the lack of casualties in Iraq and how Iraq is NOT falling into civil war? PLUS, the great economy.
Yes.
If Keith Olberman can have the "worst" "worster" and "worstest" person award, we should be able to have the "dumbest" award.
And that freep is the current winner.
Maybe someone with immense intestinal fortitude can troll the freeps each day to nominate the posts.
And we can vote.
Then, we'll be happy to troll on over and let them know who won.
They'll consider it a distinction, coming from us.
