Jay Leno apologizes to offended viewer

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

LOS ANGELES -- Jay Leno knows that comedy means sometimes having to say you're sorry.

After Leno's "Tonight Show" aired a sketch that compared Vice President Dick Cheney's hunting accident to a 2003 videotaped shooting outside a Los Angeles courthouse, he received a letter of complaint from a viewer.

Wendy Brogin, a friend of shooting victim Gerald Curry, wrote to Leno condemning the recent sketch as offensive and asking him to "do the right thing relative to this matter."

Within days, Leno responded with a phone call that greatly impressed Brogin, the Daily News of Los Angeles reported Tuesday.

Might as well! We should start complaining every time he does that shit! Make him regret ever dissing a democrat on his stupid-ass show. Jay Leno sucks anyway...I simply cannot watch his show. I just don't find him in the least bit entertaining.

I checked google, and that spelling gave plenty of hits. I suppose it might be one of those place names that came out of the colonial era, and thus not the "real name".

Or do you mean that Niel's free hooker episodes actually happened elsewhere and were just reported as Thailand?

As do most of my friends. As to comments above about him dissing Democrats, I think he disses Republicans a lot more than Democrats. Yes, the Clinton-Monica jokes have gotten a bit old, but that's only one minor complaint. Most of the time I find him funny.

From the article:

Leno works for a large media subsidiary of a multi-billion dollar corporation and image is everything to them. According to the article it took "days" for them to reach a collective decision on how to spin this.

They reached a decision and Leno's puppeteers pulled his strings accordingly.

I wouldn't give him a whole lot of credit.
