CNN now 8:50 EST: Bush Scolding Senators for Judicial appointments
Edited on Thu Nov-13-03 09:12 AM by loudnclear
Says the Senators are "shameful"

Get on those phones and e-mails and make your Dem Senator realize that they must not give in to this kind of intimidation.

4 out of 168? The Senate should have a right to disapprove at least 4 out of 168 and they should keep in front of the public this current record and the record of Clinton appointments and what the Republicans did under Clinton.

1. harkin speaks of the "pure hypocrisy" 7:55CST
pointing out the differences between clinton's 65 rejections. sanctamonious moral hypocrisy, the absurdity, and just on and on. makes me proud i'm from iowa.

3. Oh boy...
Harkin - classic.

Great start to the proceedings last night, when Sen. Byrd pressed for just two hours to finish the appropriations bill for the VA and HUD spending. He made Sen Frist basically say, we got all the Senators here to talk about four judges, not the country's business. The vets and poor will have to wait.

168 to 4, people...Thank your congressman, if they are in support of this marathon, for spending 30 hours on four advacements for people who already have jobs, than the 3 million constituents who don't have one.

This sums it up beautifully.

7. I know the feeling - Allen and Warner

In a batlle of wits between these two and a potted plant I'd put big money on the plant.

16. I feel so fortunate to have Levin and Stabenow as my Senators.
I also have the other Levin (Sander) as my congressman. Michigan is back to being a dem state, at least in the area where most of the people live. This is much to the chagrin of West Michiganians and those like freeper Dan of Michigan who lives in the KKK zone between Detroit and Lansing (Livingston County).

10. Well, they ARE supposed to be your public servants
Give 'em a call anyway, and patiently explain in simple, declarative, non-confrontational terms that you think the Senate really should be devoting its time and attention to more pressing matters than the horrible plight of four judicial nominees. You might even go so far as to suggest that the Senate might be conducting an investigation into why we're currently in Iraq, and what appears to be going so badly wrong there.

13. We should send emails
to the Republicans. Fill up their boxes; shut down the system, both phone and fax.

14. Why didn't we have a 30 hour talkfest on Iraq?
Why are we wasting 30 hours talking about 4 judicial appointments, when I don't think there was anywhere near 30 hours of debate total about invading Iraq? 4 stupid right-wing judicial appointments hold the Senate hostage and stop business for 30 hours.....but spending hundreds of millions of dollars, and the loss of hundreds of US lives, and tens of thousands of Iraqi lives doesn't rate the same attention???? This makes me sick!
