1. It has to remark on the president's declared course of breaking the law.
They have to stand up for law give Bush and incentive to follow it. If you don't at least remark on a consistent course of lawbreaking announced and embraced by Bush, you might as well declare dictatorship and check back in come Jan 2009.

7. What Makes You Think They Will Give Up Power Then?
What would prevent them from another round of blatant electoral fraud,
backed-up by a compliant Supreme Court?

What would prevent them from simply calling off the elections?

8. I said "check back in 2009".
Edited on Thu Mar-16-06 03:30 PM by Inland
Something like this:

"We're just checking in to see if the dictatorship is over yet."

"Nope".

"Okey dokey. We'll come back in 2010."

"I'm sorry, what was that?"

"Nothing. Goodbye."

"Heil Bush."

"Right. Heil".

9. We need to keep an eye on the undecideds.

And we still have to wait until Republicans are out of the majority cause the R's don't care what "focus groups" aka the American people think.

That said this is very encouraging, thanks - recommended.

10. Why don't they just ask...
Do you favor the Senate censuring a president who breaks the law?

11. Has Censure now become an alternative to impeachment?
The lower than I expected impeachment number here could be because within the context of this poll Censure might have seemed like an acceptable option to some.

12. I've been following this with interest.
Seems to me that there is at least 50-50 backing for censure - perhaps all that people need is a
little leadership from the Democratic Senators.

It's very disappointing that the leadership is apparently spineless, and I do sympathise. We have
the same problem here with our opposition "leadership".

You have to ask "where do we go to find a party of principle?"

13. Wow! Only 57% of Republicans oppose censure. That can't make
Rove happy. Shrub is losing the Republicans.
