LONGWORTH, England (Reuters) - A mild-mannered British scientist was found dead in the woods Friday after being unwittingly dragged into a fierce political dispute about intelligence used to justify war on Iraq

British police said they had found a body matching that of soft-spoken defense ministry biologist David Kelly, a former U.N. weapons inspector, who had been grilled in parliament over allegations the government hyped intelligence to justify war.

This means huge problems for Blair. I doubt he'll survive politically. Depending upon the circumstances of this man's death, Bush could be in hot water as well. The timing is very very bad here.

to Tony. In fact, they can't stop saying what a great speaker he is.

American media can't, or won't connect the dots about Kelly. However, I did hear some Brit author on CNN earlier today who said something like "this is big news...kind of like Vince Foster." It pissed me off when he said that, because I can't believe people still speak about that poor man's suicide in terms of a "murder."

But then again, he was clearly making it sound like it is a highly unusual, untimely death for the guy who accused Tony of "sexing up WMD intelligence."
