Colin Powell says he doesn't plan to run for office

He needs to just go away....he has done enough damage to our country...

he screwed up his chances...."Elected political life is something I'm not able to do."

He may have been able to do it at one time, but after that UN speach...No way in hell!

and possibly my vote. Not now.

I don't think so--he sold himself out with the chimp.

1. As a Major, when assigned to investigate, could not find evidence of war crimes in Vietnam. A not-so-sharp tack or a deliberate cover-up? You decide.
2. As Chairman of the JCS, he refused a request from the commander in Somalia to send a mechanized unit to reinforce. The result = a bloody mess of an extraction (10th Mountain in humvees, etc.)when the Rangers got shot down. Of course, after that happened, an entire mech brigade was sent to Somalia. Powell seemed content to let Clinton take the blame for it all, despite his own fuckup, and the fact that GHW Bush ordered troops to Somalia in the first place!
3. As Sec. of State, lied his ass off to get an unjustified war started, which has made a lot of money for war-profiteering corporations, but done nothing for our security.

1. He does no Heavy Lifting

2. Takes No chances

3. Is a coward who takes NO Responsibility

Since I didn't plan to vote for him anyway, that's *one* less press release i'll have to get out!


Now if only lieberman woujld hurry up and announces that he too doesn't plan to run - that'd save me a bunch of time.

Outside of John McCain, I can't think of one who has any respect at all, and my level of respect for McCain drops every time I see that picture of him hugging Bush!

Well I know that is a hard thing to do for those who are used to being adored in their positions of power, but this takes the cake.

Who on earth would think, even Powell himself, that he could ever run to be the president of the US? He is as delusional as the rest of them.

Go write a book or something, Powell. You sold us down the creek and did it without a thought.

Secretary of State Colin Powell described his killer schedule in an interview Thursday with Abdul Rahman Al-Rashed, a reporter for a London-based Saudi newspaper .

"So do you use sleeping tablets to organize yourself?" Al-Rashed asked.

"Yes. Well, I wouldn't call them that," Powell said. "They're a wonderful medication — not medication. How would you call it? They're called Ambien, which is very good. You don't use Ambien? Everybody here uses Ambien."
