Blackwell Got Complaint About SS Numbers Over a Year Ago (Oops!)
Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell's office fielded a complaint about the posting of Social Security numbers on Blackwell's Web site almost a year and a half before a second complaint sparked a federal lawsuit and forced the removal of the numbers. Blackwell's office initially said it hadn't received any other questions about the practice before truck driver Darrell Estep sued earlier this month.

1. His excuse then and recently:
Since it isn't against the law, we don't have to remove the ss numbers.

aka: if identity theft happens to Ohioans because of this practice... not our fault, there is no law that specifies that we have to black the numbers out... (as if that would remove liability...) What a jerk.
