Britain to sell about $85B in assets

Britain will sell about $85 billion worth of assets, including the state-owned nuclear industry and public spectrum airwaves.

Chancellor Gordon Brown also said military firing ranges and a 480-outlet betting chain known as Tote would be sold, the Guardian reported Thursday.

Brown is just announcing more privatization moves by the government. As long as they don't sell to another government-owned entity like Dubai P & O, it's not a bad move. At least they are still spending money on universal health care and baby bonds, something that so foreign to *.

5. The power stuff is a money loser

Nukes have never been able to do cost recovery very well, so they are selling that "asset" which is a liability in some respects.
